The Problem

Although wasps visit dustbins, waste depots and dead animal bodies (carrion) and may possibly spread disease, they are mainly known for their painful sting. In most cases the sting is no more than unpleasant, although multiple stings in sensitive places around the head and mouth may be more serious. In rare cases even a single sting may induce a condition known as anaphylactic shock (an extreme reaction to the toxins in the wasp’s venom). Without immediate medical attention this could result in death within a very short period of time.

The Solution

George Byers Pest Control specialises in the eradication of wasps and the destruction of their nests. Wasp nests are frequently located in loft spaces, cavity walls and in garden sheds. The control of adult wasps alone is unlikely produce significant control. The main goal should be to disable the nest by applying a residual insecticide at the entrance. Wasps entering the nest will carry the insecticide into the nest which will then prove lethal to the colony.
