The ant has a wide spectrum of acceptable foods and they are particularly fond of sweet substances. It only takes one ant to find a food source in the home or work place and then it communicates with it’s co-workers which in turn results in an infestation. Ants have the ability to contaminate human food and although they are not dirty insects, they often walk over unsavoury and unclean areas whilst on their daily forage.

Control is only necessary when ants are invading or occasionally living in the premises. This is achieved by using a residual spray or dust on the areas where the ants are accessing the building. A cement or mastic can also additionally be used to seal entry holes thus preventing re entry from other ants.
